Rick Cogdill, 57, of Clover, SC, passed away April 3, 2016 at his residence.
He was born December 4, 1958 in Gastonia, the son of Bob Cogdill and the late Gwendolyn Lucille Cogdill.
Rick was a US Marine Corp Veteran. He was part of the IBEW Union – International and Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
Left to cherish his memories along with his father are his sisters Vickie Cogdill and Renee Hamby and husband Steve; brothers Richard Cogdill and wife Angie, Wendell Cogdill and wife Tammy, William Cogdill and wife Kim; nieces and nephews Kimberly VanderLann and husband Travis, Josh Yon, Casey Cogdill and wife Lindsey, Kristin Laymon, Meredith Koester and husband Jake, Logan Cogdill, Chase Cogdill, Kameron Cogdill; great-nephews Logan and Landon Cogdill; brother-in-law and sister-in-law David and Angie Bridges; fiancé Emmalee Sundberg and her two daughters Hannah and Delaney Sundberg; two dogs Gunny and L.T. and special friends Butch, Larry, Forney, Harry, Andy and many other friends.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife Joann Cogdill; grandparents Jake Cogdill and Louise and Dan Beheler and nephew-in-law Jon Laymon.
A graveside service will be held 12 noon Saturday at Gaston Memorial Park, officiated by Pastor Mike Chambers.
The family will receive friends 6 – 8 pm Friday at the home of his brother, Richard Cogdill, 226 Patterson Road, Kings Mountain.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, 18251 Quantico Gateway Drive, Triangle, BA 22172 or Hunter's Helping Kids Inc. National, PO Box 247, Saxapahaw, NC 27340.
Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
