Rick Christenbury

Rick Christenbury, 59, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Monday, July 3, 2023.

He was born July 11, 1963, a native of Gaston Co, NC, son of Etoulia Rollins and the late Ebbie Lee Christenbury, Jr.

Rick loved to play the guitar and to work outside. His children came first, and he was a gentle soul that would help anyone.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Debora Lynn Phillips; stepdad, George Rollins; and grandchildren, Christopher, Tara, and Jamie.

In addition to his mother, Rick is survived by his children, Tracy Christenbury, Christy Thompson, Ricky Christenbury, Casey Christenbury (Brandy), and Zachary Christenbury; brother, Eddie Christenbury (Debra); sisters, Bonnie Rollins, Libby Campbell, and Dana Falls (David); and grandchildren, Houston, Allen Michael, Tori, Chloe, Addy, Ava, Mason, and Colton.

The family would like to thank a special cousin, Lisa Christenbury, for all her help in caring for Rick.

A funeral service officiated by Rev. Gene Nolen, will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.

Family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will follow the service at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia, NC.
