It is with heartfelt emotions that we announce the passing of Richard Lee Woodcock, who left us on March 3, 2025, at the age of 48. Born on September 5, 1976, in North Carolina, Richard was a beloved son, dedicated father, brother, uncle and friend who brought joy to those around him. He was such a humble and kindhearted man and he never met a stranger.
Richard grew up in a hardworking family and spent his life in pursuits that showcased his strong work ethic and skill as a Laser Doffer in the metal manufacturing industry at IFab of Gastonia. He was known for his diligence and passion for his work, contributing significantly to his team and the industry.
He enjoyed spending time at the beach and one of his favorite things to do was to go fishing.
Richard is survived by his loving sister, Terri Martin and husband Kenneth Martin Sr., and his cherished son, Christopher Woodcock, nieces, Britnie Campbell (Jared), Kaily Martin, Ashley Martin, nephews, Kenneth Martin Jr., Phillip Martin, great nieces and nephews, Zoeie, Trinden, Maddox, Aiden, Insley The bonds he forged with his family were deep and lasting, providing support and laughter through the years.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis Craig Woodcock and Thelma Simmons Woodcock, brother, Dennis Craig Woodcock Jr.
A gathering of family and friends will be held 4-6 pm Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel 1503 South York Road Gastonia.
