Richard Dean Wolfe

December 15, 1932 — January 12, 2017

Richard Dean Wolfe, 84, of Gastonia, passed away January 12, 2017 at The Robin Johnson House in Dallas.

He was born December 15, 1932 in East Liverpool, OH, the son of the late Joseph Wolfe and Betty Jane Fryman Wolfe.

Richard was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War.  He was of the Baptist Faith.  He enjoyed playing golf and music.  For many years, he sang at several nursing homes.  He loved his family and will be missed dearly.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of over 52 years, Frances Culp Wolfe; son Kenneth Lee Johnston and wife Evangeline; grandchildren Charlie and David Johnston; brothers Don Wolfe and wife Pat, Bob Wolfe and wife Connie, Merle Wolfe and wife Barbara and sister Gladys Lattimore and husband Joe.

A graveside service, with full military honors by the Gaston County Honor Guard, officiated by Chaplain Anita Harvin will be held 3 pm Monday, January 16, 2017 at Gaston Memorial Park, 1200 S. New Hope Rd., Gastonia.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
