Richard "Richie" Tourtellotte

Richard "Richie" Tourtellotte, 55, of Bessemer City, passed away August 29, 2024, at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.

He was born November 10, 1968, in Windam County, Connecticut.

Richie loved the water. Pool, lake, ocean, it didn't matter. He loved to swim, canoe, if it had to do with water he was there. When he was younger, he enjoyed sports and pitched for his baseball team. Richie loved being outdoors. He loved working with his hands and making things for others, especially his mom. He loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed.

Richie is survived by his loving mother, Alice Elie; daughter, Ashley Tourtellotte (Tristian Phillips); brother, Ron Tourtellotte; nephew, Chris Tourtellotte; great-nephew, Colyn Tourtellotte; grandchildren, TJ Phillips and Kenstan Phillips.

Richie was preceded in death by his father, George Tourtellotte; grandchild, Shaleigh Phillips; maternal grandparents, Alice and Bill Finley.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, September 5, 2024, 2:00 PM, at Shady Grove Baptist Church 3240 Tryon Courthouse Road Cherryville, officiated by Pastor Dale Hendricks.

The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM.
