Richard Larry Swails

Richard Larry Swails, 73, of York, SC, passed away August 5, 2015 at The Robin Johnson House in Dallas. He was born December 1, 1941 in Upson County, GA, son of the late Charles Thomas Swails and Ann Jackson Swails. Richard was a member of the Teamsters Union. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Mildred Swails; sons, Darrell and Darren; daughters, Barbara Mullinax, Darlene Neal and Pam Williamson; brothers, Charles, Roy, Neal and Jerry; sisters, Linda, Jeanette and Catherine; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Richard Larry Swails, Jr. and sisters, Loretta and Myrtle. A memorial service will be held 2 pm Saturday at First Pentecostal Church - 91 May Street, Gastonia, officiated by the Revs. Billy Chapman and Billy Campbell. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
