Richard Lee Stewart

Richard Lee Stewart, 72, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center. He was born June 21, 1941 in Gastonia, son of the late James C. and Mildred Williams Stewart. Richard was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He is survived by his wife, Victoria Stewart; children, Larry S. Evans and wife Leah of Kings Mountain, Chris Evans Longmire and husband Warren of Knoxville, TN, Keri L. Burgess of Gastonia; sister, Brenda Nelson and husband J.R. of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and nine grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 8 at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia. A graveside funeral service, officiated by Rev. Michael Stewart, will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, January 9 at Armstrong Cemetery, Gastonia. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
