Richard Maddox

Richard Dean Maddox, Gastonia, passed away May 23, 2012, at Gaston Memorial Hospital, Gastonia. He was born July 2, 1931 in Gaston County, son of the late George Frank and Flossie Stowe Maddox. Mr. Maddox was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Gastonia. A memorial service will be held 11am on Saturday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Chris Norris. The family will receive friends 10-11am prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment is private. He is survived by: his wife of 64 years, Annette Cannon Maddox; son, Steve Maddox and wife, Betty; daughter, Robbin Lynch and husband, Steve; brothers, George Maddox Jr., Gerald Maddox and wife, Carol, Bobby Maddox and wife, Barbara; sisters, Ruby Hamilton, Sherry McCall and husband, John; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: a brother, Thomas J. Maddox. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 1901 Brunswick Ave., Suite 100, Charlotte, NC 28207.
