Rev. Richard Clark Jr.

Rev. Richard F. Clark, Jr., 87, of Dallas, passed away January 1, 2016 at his residence.

He was born August 6, 1928, in Clarksville, PA, son of the late Richard Clark Sr. and Helen Stroman Clark.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Nancy Clark Stoneking and Linda Clark Ward.

Rev. Clark was an ordained minister and a member of Temple Baptist Church in Gastonia.

He was retired from W.D. Lee and Company.

He was a veteran who served during WWII in the Army Air Corps, the Korean War, and the Merchant Marines.

Rev. Clark was a lifetime member of the VFW, and a member of the Gaston County WWII Last Man's Club.

He was active in photography, RC airplanes, firearms, and playing bluegrass.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving companion, Elizabeth Ann Dilling and her daughter, Tina C. Dilling; children, Richard H. Clark, Vickie Boswell, Scott Clark, Kimberly Ashmore, and Mark Clark; nine grandchildren; and his beloved four-legged companion of 16 years, Pixie.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Scott Whitener, will be held 1 pm Tuesday, January 5, at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Gaston Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gaston Hospice, P.O. Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
