Richard Lee Jones

Richard Jones, 59, of Cherryville, passed away May 19, 2022, at his home.

He was born September 26, 1962, in Wood County, West Virginia.

Richard had a strong work ethic. He began earning money by cutting grass at a young age. While in high school, he began working for Simonton Windows. He worked there for 15 years. He later moved to NC where he worked at LaZBoy Furniture and TS Electric. Richard made friends anywhere he went. If a person couldn't get along with him, they were the ones that had the problem. He would give the shirt off of his back to a complete stranger. He was a life-long fan of the LA Rams and WV Mountaineers. And he loved a good, strong cup of hot, black coffee!

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 11th at 4:00 pm at Charity Baptist Church, 113 Charity Church Road, Lawndale, NC, officiated by pastor Kyeth Lindsay.

A memorial service will also be held July 1st at 6:00 pm in Pennsboro, WV. Richard will be buried at Gnats Run Cemetery, Pennsboro, WV.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Charity Christian School, 113 Charity Church Road, Lawndale, NC 28090.

Richard is survived by his loving parents Kenneth and Peggy Jones; brothers, Rick Jones (Robin), Tim Jones (Jennifer), Danny Jones; sister, Melody Lindsay (Kyeth); several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
