Scott Jenkins Sr.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Scott Jenkins Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, who left us on January 16, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on June 5, 1951, in Gastonia, North Carolina. Scott carried his hometown pride with him throughout his life and made Bessemer City the place he called home, where he brought joy and warmth to everyone he met.

Scott was a man of deep love and strong commitments. He treasured his family and friendships above all else, which for Scott, meant taking care of people. Whether through a kind word, a helping hand, or simply showing up when it mattered most, he made sure those around him always felt supported.

A faithful servant of God, Scott dedicated over 40 years to Pisgah ARP Church in Gastonia, where he served as an elder and cherished member. His love for people extended beyond the church, as he was a founding member of the Carolina Cruisers of Bessemer City, sharing his lifelong passion for hot rod and classic cars with fellow motor enthusiasts.

As a longstanding member of Whetstone Masonic Lodge #515, Scott valued brotherhood and community service. Professionally, he built lasting relationships as the owner of Scott Jenkins Insurance Agency, where he was known not only for his integrity but also for genuinely caring about his clients.

An alumnus of the University of South Carolina, Scott was a proud Gamecocks fan and carried that spirit with him throughout his life.

Scott found peace and happiness at the beach, where the salty air, ocean breeze, and the sound of 1960's beach music were never far from his heart. Those who knew him best will always remember him smiling to the rhythm of his favorite tunes, living life with joy and gratitude.

Scott leaves behind his loving wife of 54 years, Peggy Jenkins; son, Scott Jenkins Jr. (Kristy); and daughter, Erika Jenkins Reynolds (Chris); and grandchildren, Blaire Ray (Andrew), Wes Reynolds, Brayden Reynolds, Klara Jenkins, and Keyton Jenkins, who will continue to honor his legacy of kindness, service, and love.

Friends and family are invited to join us at Pisgah ARP Church in Gastonia on January 23, 2026. A celebration of life will take place at 1:00 p.m., followed by visitation at 2:00 p.m. We welcome all who knew him to come and celebrate the life of a truly remarkable man.

A private burial will be held to lay Scott to rest in the church cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Mary Jenkins, and his brother, Robert Douglas Jenkins.
