Richard Delfont Hoover, Jr.

Richard Delfont Hoover Jr., 63, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 8, 2024, at his residence.

He was born in Broome County, New York, on January 19, 1961, to the late Richard and Genevieve Hoover.

Richard was a charter member of Providence Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon, usher, and served with the youth ministry. Richard loved everybody and considered everyone he met as a friend. He was a compassionate, giving individual.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Cora Lee, Kathleen, Bridgette; niece, Tonya.

Richard is survived by his wife of 27 years, Emma; sons, Ricco Hoover and wife Michaela, Richard Jonas and wife Tesia; daughter, Brittny Gould (Corey Demorier); brother, Donald Hoover and wife Tammy; sister, Patricia Randall and husband Charles; best friend/brother, Mike Purdy; five grandchildren.

A memorial service officiated by Minister Kenneth Henry will be held Saturday, April 20, 2024, 2:00 PM, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
