Richard Eugene Halk

Richard Eugene Halk, 59, of Gastonia, passed away August 4, 2016, at the Robin Johnson Hospice House, Dallas. He was born February 3, 1957, in Gaston County, son of the late Charlie Clemmer Halk and Bonnie Briggs Halk. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 8, 2016, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Raymond Johns. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Westview Gardens. Mr. Halk is survived by son, Daniel Eugene Halk of Gastonia; daughter, Melanie Smith and husband, Derek of Kings Mountain; former spouse, Patty Johnson of Kings Mountain; sisters, Diane Williams and husband Leo, Eleanor Ivey, Brenda Dennis, all of Gastonia, and Mary Whitlock and husband Allard of Wadesboro; numerous nieces and nephews.
