Richard William Dennis of Gastonia unexpectedly passed away on September 20, 2017 in Mecklenburg County.
Richard was born in Chula Vista, CA to Kelly and Mike Dennis on June 3, 1987. He graduated from West Mecklenburg High School in 2005. He worked for ABC Towing Company in Gastonia and was a volunteer firefighter at North Gaston Volunteer Fire and Rescue in High Shoals. Richard worked hard and had a selfless heart. He was most happy when he was helping someone in need.
Richard was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gordon and Joan Wright of Peoria, IL and Sterling and Delores Dennis of Chula Vista, CA, an uncle, Richard Dennis of Chula Vista, CA and his most beloved dog, Thunder.
He is survived by his parents, Kelly and Mike Dennis of Gastonia, NC; siblings, Stephen Dennis and Brittany Dennis of Gastonia, NC; Eric Dennis of Tucson, AZ and Michael and Cathy Dennis of Seymour, TN and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Monday, September 25, 2017 at First Baptist Church, 600 N. Lincoln St., High Shoals.
Celebration of Life will follow at Karyae Park, 4227 Linwood Rd., Gastonia.
