Richard Alvine Bingham

Richard Alvine Bingham, 54, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Carolinas Continue Care Hospital at Pineville, Charlotte, NC.

He was born March 28, 1967, in Gaston Co, NC, son of the late Lewis Alvin Bingham and Eleanor Faye McKinney Spurrier.

Richard was many things and wore many hats: father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.  He loved everyone unconditionally and never met a stranger.  In his life, he opened his home to any kid that needed a place to feel safe, and was never afraid to teach us the hard truths with hilarious proverbs only his mind could think of.  He helped raise up many of the kids growing up in the 90's and 2000's.

In his professional life, as a carpenter, he served those in need over monetary gain many times.  He has helped make many homes handicap accessible for the elderly and infirmed.  He was always ready to help fix anything he could for all who asked.

Richard lived his life cherishing everything and loving everyone.  He truly lived every moment and followed his heart all the way through.  He was the shining light of our family and the life of every party.  His children are proud to carry on with his legacy of love, family, and friendship.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Virgil Lee Bingham; and brother, Keith Virgil Bingham.

Richard is survived by the mother of his children, Denise Ilene Bingham; children, Richard Alvine Bingham, Jr. (Megan Nichole Bingham), Angela Brooke Bingham, and Trinity Logan Bingham; grandchildren, Virgil Lee Bingham, Jr., and Talon Braize Neiger; and many best friends.

A celebration of life will be held 5:00 pm Saturday, March 5, 2022 at the Bingham Estates 2130 N. Modena St. Gastonia, NC.
