Rena Gentry Palmer, 81, of Gastonia, passed away July 18, 2018 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.
She was born April 9, 1937 in Cherokee County, SC, the daughter of the late JD Gentry and Dovie Lee Cox Gentry.
Rena was an active member of Ranlo Church of God for 30+ years. She retired from RL Stowe Mills.
Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Ray Jr. Palmer and wife Debbie of Rockhill, SC and Jerry Palmer and wife Terri of Dallas, NC; daughter, Naomi Huntsinger and husband George of Kings Mountain; sister, Geraldine Spears and husband Robert of Dallas; brothers, Dave Gentry and wife Belinda of Kings Mountain and Charles Gentry and wife Evelyn of Victoria, Texas; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; special niece, Sis England and husband Bobby of Bessemer City, NC; Rena's guardian Angel, Jason Jones. Greatly loved by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Palmer Sr.; and brothers, Don, Joe and Carl Gentry.
A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Jack Ford, will be held 2 pm, Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Ranlo Church of God, 1825 Spencer Mountain Road, Gastonia.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be in Gaston Memorial Park.
