Regina Smith

Regina "Jean" Louise Smith, a beloved member of the Dallas, NC community, passed away on December 1, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on July 7, 1939, in South Carolina, Jean spent her life dedicated to her family and the craft she loved as a seamstress in a local sewing plant.

A devoted member of New Faith Baptist Church in Stanley, NC, Regina touched many lives over the years. She was an active participant in the church choir, sharing her beautiful voice and passion for music with her fellow congregants. Jean also had a warm spirit and a nurturing nature, as evidenced by her love for reading and spending time working in her yard, where the flowers bloomed as vibrantly as her joyful personality.

Jean is survived by her children, Cynthia Huffstetler and Scott Smith; 13 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren; a niece and nephew; two daughter in laws, Tracey Sturgill and Kelly Smith.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Regina's life during her funeral service on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 1:00 PM at New Faith Baptist Church. A visitation will be held beforehand, starting at 12:00 PM at the same location. Following the service, Regina will be laid to rest privately at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia, NC 28054.

Regina Louise Smith will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of family, friends, and the church community she cherished.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Henry Smith; parents Carl and Ezie Ledford; son, Mark Anthony Smith; brothers, Bobby, Carl Jr., and Doug Ledford; sister, Betty Brace.
