Raymond Charles Mcmahan

Raymond Charles McMahan, 87, of Stanley, passed away at his home on May 28, 2024.

He was born September 29, 1936, in Buncombe County, NC, to the late JB McMahan and Elsie Kirby.

In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by a brother, Sherrill McMahan.

Raymond was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church in Dallas, where he served as a deacon and church treasurer.  He was a devoted husband and a hard worker.  He loved his church.  He loved driving trucks.

Raymond is survived by his wife of 67 years, Nancy McMahan; son, Mark McMahan (Mara Welch); daughter, Laura Skinnell (Steve); brothers, Stan McMahan, James McMahan, and Don McMahan (Peggy); grandchildren, Shane McMahan (Jordan Conrad), Kyle McMahan (Brittany), Justin Skinnell, and Amber Joyner (Michael); and great-grandchildren, Hunter McMahan, Kenzie Benfield, and Carson Joyner.

A service to celebrate Raymond's life officiated by Pastor Chris Doster, will be held at 2:45 pm, Friday, May 31, 2024, at Maranatha Baptist Church, 104 Downey Lake Road, Dallas, NC 28034.  The family will receive friends 2:00-2:45 pm prior to the service at the church.  Interment will follow the service at Hillcrest Gardens, 1508 Charles Raper Jonas Hwy., Mount Holly, NC 28120.
