Ray Palmer Sr.

Ray Anderson Palmer Sr., 78, of Gastonia, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2013 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia. A Gaston County native, he was born June 12, 1934, son of the late Gaither and Pearl Palmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mildred Fox. Mr. Palmer attended Ranlo Church of God and was retired from Pharr Yarns I-85 Plant. Ray is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Rena Palmer; sons, Ray Palmer Jr. and wife Debbie of Rock Hill, SC, Jerry Palmer and wife Terri of Dallas; daughter, Naomi Huntsinger and husband Sonny of Kings Mountain; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildern. A funeral service, officiated by the Revs. Johnny Sawyer and Jack Ford, will be held 3:00pm Tuesday, April 30, at Ranlo Church of God, 1825 Spencer Mountain Rd., Gastonia. The family will receive friends at the church from 1-3 pm Tuesday prior to the service.Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia.
