Ray Elders

Gastonia, NC Ray Elders, age 73, passed away December 9, 2012, at his home. He was born October 8, 1939 in Swain County, NC, son of the late Rosco and Anthia York Elders. A funeral service will be held 11am on Wednesday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd.Gastonia, officiated by Rev. John Heath. The family will receive friends 10-11 am on Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia. He is survived by: his wife Virginia W. Elders; sons, Mark and Curtis Elders of Gastonia; daughter, Renee Cole of Gastonia; sisters and brothers, Wanda Kiger of Lexington, Norma Johnson of Barnesville, Audry Perry of Asheville, Corrina Barker of Bryson City, Huey Elders of Lexington, NC; 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren all of Gaston and York Counties. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: brothers, Foy Elders of Lexington, Johnny Elders of Bryson City; sister, Ola Mae Elders of Bryson City.
