Rannie P. Whisnant

Rannie P. Whisnant, 74, of Lincolnton, passed away January 22, 2017 at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

He was born January 15, 1943, a native of Gaston County, the son of the late Pinkney Paul Whisnant and Mae Bridges Whisnant.

Rannie was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of Victory Life Assembly of God in Cherryville.  He loved his family and "fur baby" Shelby and will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of over 40 years Phyllis Whisnant; sons Tim and Matt Whisnant; step-son Scott Welch; daughter Susan Abernathy; step-daughter Sherry Ward; six grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Kelton Whisnant.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Mike Whisnant, will be held 2 pm Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Victory Life Assembly of God, 1655 Shelby Hwy., Cherryville, NC 28021.

The family will receive friends 5 – 8 pm Friday at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.

Interment will be in Westview Gardens.
