Randy Carroll Bell

Gastonia, NC Randy Carroll Bell, 56, after a brave battle with cancer, passed away peacefully at his home on August 12, 2013, surrounded by family members. Randy was a native of Gastonia, a graduate of Hunter Huss High School and an employee of Wix. He was an avid fisherman and coached girls' softball at both Southwest Middle School and Hunter Huss High. Randy was also very involved with the Huss Booster Club, helping with the concession stand at games, where he became known as "The Popcorn Man". Randy is the son of Emogene Bell and the late, Clemmer Bell. In addition to his beloved mother, he is survived by the light of his life, his daughter, Sherrie Elaine Bell and his sister, Judy Bell Matthews of Gastonia. Special thanks to Randy's aunt, Ann Singleton and his cousin, Jean Moore. You were both Heaven sent in Randy's time of need. "We make a life by what we give". The family wishes to express their appreciation to Gaston Hospice. A celebration of life service will be held 1:00 pm on Friday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Rev. Danny Hoell. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 9:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia.
