Randall Monroe Watts, affectionately known to most as "Randy," age 67, passed away on August 17, 2026, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
Randy was born on August 4, 1959, to Herman Monroe Watts and Faye Evans Watts. Raised in Gaston, South Carolina, he later made his home in Gastonia, North Carolina.
A man of quick wit, sharp skill, and a love for good times, Randy was always up for a little friendly competition. He enjoyed showing off his talent at the pool table and hitting the golf course alongside his son, Tyler, his brother, Tony, and his many friends. Randy also loved reminiscing about his younger years, often sharing fond stories of hunting, riding dirt bikes, and racing muscle cars through the streets of Gaston with his brother.
While Randy built a lifetime of fun and unforgettable memories, his world truly centered around his family. One of his most cherished life milestones was the birth of his son, Tyler-a moment Randy proudly said made his life complete. That joy only multiplied when he earned the beloved title of "Pop-Pop" to his three grandsons, Nykholi, Rowlyn, and Baylor, who quickly became the absolute light of his life.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Faye Watts, and his grandparents, Jacob and Verna Rish.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved son, Tyler Watts, and his wife, Madison; his three adored grandsons, Nykholi, Rowyn, and Baylor Watts; his brother, Anthony
Watts, and his wife, Karen; his sister, Cynthia Watts; four nieces; fourteen great-nieces and great-nephews; and his aunt, Mary Kaye Sturkie.
Randy also leaves behind his three young men he loved and considered his own sons, Austin, Jon, and David, as well as his lifelong friends, Barbara Lingerfeldt, Melissa Helms, and Charlie, who shared many years of friendship, memories, and laughter with him. He will also be remembered with love by his pastor, Tim Small.
Randy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His quick wit, adventurous spirit, stories, laughter, and, most of all, his unwavering love for his family and friends will remain in their hearts and memories forever.
Arrangements are being handled by Greene Funeral Service. Memorial services will be held at Spiritual Guidance in Mount Holly, North Carolina.
Rest easy, Randy. You will be forever loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.
