Randy Bormann

Apr 11, 1954 — Oct 26, 2026

Randall Leo Bormann of Gastonia, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2026, at the age of 72 holding the hand of his beloved wife, Susan.

Born on April 11, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois, Randy was the son of Norma Donne McPherson and Leopold Theodore Bormann.

Randy enjoyed a successful career in business and executive recruitment. He served as Vice President of Accellent (formerly UTI/Spectrum) for four years and spent 21 years as the owner and an Account Executive of Management Recruiters of Gastonia North, Inc.

Randy had a wonderful sense of humor. He had a wonderful laugh and an endless supply of stories. He loved classic comedy, especially Looney Tunes, Monty Python and The Three Stooges, and was never above making a funny face to get a laugh. One family favorite was the red clown nose his nephew Sam gave him, which Randy proudly wore every Christmas. It was a small but perfect example of his playful spirit and the joy he found in making others laugh. Randy was a natural storyteller who could turn an ordinary conversation into something memorable. He had a gift for mixing humor with thoughtful observations and bits of wisdom. His nephews especially remember the laughter, stories and advice he shared with them over the years.

Above all, Randy was devoted to his family, especially his beloved wife, Susan, whom he married in October 1992. Their life together was marked by love, companionship and an extraordinary commitment to one another. Following Susan's devastating stroke, Randy became her steadfast advocate and caregiver. Throughout her lengthy hospitalization, he spent countless hours by her side, navigating difficult medical decisions and supporting her through the challenges of recovery. His dedication to Susan was a remarkable expression of the love they shared.

Randy is survived by his loving wife, Susan Bormann; his son, Andy Bormann; his three grandchildren, Madison, Sophia, and Gage. His sisters, Janet Peters, Cheryl Wawrzaszck, Anna Miller, and Sarah Mayo; his brother, Doug Bormann.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Donne McPherson, and his father, Leopold Theodore Bormann.

A celebration of Randy's life will be held on January 16, 2027 at Elevation Church in Belmont, NC. Family and friends will gather to remember a man whose humor, stories, wisdom and devotion to those he loved touched so many lives. The South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service is honored to serve the Bormann family. Condolences may be shared online at: www.greenefuneral.com.
