Ralph Dowd Sr

Ralph William Dowd, Sr., 73, of Ranlo, passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021, at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.

Born on December 28, 1947, in Warren County, PA, Ralph was the son of the late Harold and Patricia Dowd.

Ralph served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict.

The family would like to thank Shelby, Brianna and Tyreka for the care and love they showed to Mr. Dowd and the rest of their family.

In addition to his parents, Ralph is preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Farmer Dowd; and brother, Bobby Dowd.

Left to cherish Mr. Dowd's memories are his sons, Ralph Dowd, Jr. (Lynn) and Kevin Dowd (Jennifer); daughters, Roxanne Carlson (John) and Laurie Oleshak (Duncan); brother, Dennis Dowd; 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 4:30 pm on Sunday, January 2, 2022, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S York Rd, Gastonia, NC 28052.

The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Military honors will be provided by the US Army.
