Quindell Lee Destiny Clevenger, 75, of Belmont, passed away November 10, 2017.
He was born February 15, 1942 in Newport, Tennessee, the son of the late James Donald Clevenger and Margaret Alene Fine Clevenger.
Quindell often spoke of pleasant memories at Cramerton High School where he graduated in 1961. His main business life was in sales. He had gained some business knowledge during his short office work at Burlington Mills, but most recently he was outside of Cramerton working in tire and car sales. He was once named number one top salesman of the year by a major tire company.
Eastern Airlines carried him around the nation and because of his accomplishments and friendly personality, he met with various classes of people, which was something he thoroughly enjoyed. He loved people. In the last few years Wills # 2 Convenience Store on New Hope Road was a favorite spot of his. He told his family he had friends there, especially Jari Reid and Mr. Perry. Quin was a Christian believer, a member of First Baptist Church in Cramerton and an organ donor. He was also an avid supporter of many years to the Charlotte Rescue Mission.
Left to cherish his memories are his sisters, Barbara Moore, Carolyn Whitworth and Cynthia Clevenger; special step-son and step-daughter, Curtis and Shannon Adams (children of his second wife) and numerous nieces and nephews. Another special friend and a Vietnam veteran and best of all a next-door neighbor, Dennis Jordan is to be recognized, they spent lots of time together.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Tonnie Jones and sisters Gloria McDonald and Linda Eckard Bell, both of Cramerton.
A gathering of friends and family will be held 6 – 8 pm Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Greene Funeral Service South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.
The South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
