Mr. Quenterio (Quan) Threats, was born August 19, 1989 in Gastonia, NC and went home to be with the Lord Friday, May 31, 2019. He was the son of Doressia (Elmore) Byers and Phillip (Lucy) Byers and Godparents Latisha Byers and Danny Holman.
In his youth, he was a member of McCaskill Brice Church Home of Hope and Restoration Ministries and later attended First Antioch Interdenominational Church. As a teen, he attended North Gaston High School. He was employed at Home Care Solutions in Winston-Salem, where he found his calling for caring for the disabled. Quan was a one of a kind honorable man who enjoyed dancing, making everyone laugh, and being a wonderful father. He always had a beautiful relationship with all his nieces and nephews. His kindness and wisdom will forever be remembered.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rachel Johnson Byers, DC Byers, and Betty Threats; uncles, David Threats, Michael Byers, Dexter Byers, and Patrick Byers.
He leaves to cherish fond memories with three daughters and one son; Quanteria Threats (Litquitha Reid) of Shelby, NC, Nadia Threats, Landon Gardin, CJ Gardin (Monique Gardin) of Winston-Salem; special friend, Lorraine Foman; nineteen brothers and sisters; Bryan, Airco, Phillip, DC, Tay, Michael, Jahiem, Shrika, Monashea, Denice, Nadia, Rachel, Shardarius, Donnae, Destinee, Jasmine, Kimya, Miesha, Michelle, Ashley, all of Gastonia; grandparents; Robert and Helen Colen; five aunts; Sandra Byers, Patty Turner, Gail Threats, Pamela Pegram, and Yvette Williams; seven uncles, Barry (Charlsey) Byers, Curtis Byers, Danny Byers, Benny Byers, Anthony Turner, Sherwood Threats, and Tyrone Threats.
A homegoing service will be held 3 pm Saturday, June 8, 2019 at McCaskill Brice Church Home of Hope and Restoration Ministries, 1300 Gaston Avenue, Gastonia, NC, officiated by Pastors Celina Curry and Carla Smith Brown.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be in Armstrong Cemetery, Gastonia.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Home Care Solutions, 4401 Cherry Street, Suite 30, Winston Salem, NC 27105.
Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
