Phyllis Smith Teague

Phyllis Smith Teague, 73, of Lowell, NC, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at her residence.

She was born February 10, 1949, in Darlington Co, SC, daughter to the late Willie J. Smith, Sr. and Annie Mae Hall Smith.

Phyllis was full of life. She was a very generous and accepting lady. She loved her family, especially her grand and great-grandchildren. She retired from Pharr Yarns, and worked at Ticaro, Dixie Yarns.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Teague; and several siblings.

Phyllis is survived by her son, James Hayden and wife, Suzanne; daughters, Renee Woody and husband, Donnie, and Leona Teague; brothers, Willie Smith, Jr., and Linwood Smith; sisters, Hazel Platt, Joyce Gainey, and Wanda Melton; grandchildren, Thomas Hayden and wife, Tifeny, Travis Woody and wife, Sarah, Brittany Rudisill, Tyler Hayden, and Jasmine Tidwell; and great-grandchildren, Hunter Hayden, Levi Hayden, Travis Woody, Jr., Madison Woody, Alaina Hayden, Julius Rudisill, Elijah Rudisill, and Brayden Holland-Naylor.

A celebration of life service officiated by Rev. Steve Wood, will be held 5:30pm on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.

Inurnment will be held at Hollywood Cemetery, Gastonia.
