Phyllis Morehead Carroll

Phyllis Morehead Carroll, 72, of Bessemer City, passed away Friday, May 11, 2018, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia.

She was born December 21, 1945, in Cleveland County, daughter of he late Fritz Spurgeon Morehead and Margaret Mae Gold Morehead.

Phyllis loved her family and her church family. She enjoyed sightseeing, shopping for antiques, and riding in old cars with Gene. Phyllis was a member of Bethlehem Church in Gastonia.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Bob, Pete, Bill, Rub, and Tom Morehead; sisters, Mae Kelly and Brenda Josey.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband of over 50 years, Gene Carroll; children, Billie Jean Fillers and husband, Dwight, Jean Ann Crane and husband, Eric; stepchildren, Todd Carroll and wife, Sandra, Genia Hamrick and husband, Allen; twin brother, Phil Morehead; sister, Lena Josey; 11 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 4:00-6:00 pm on Monday at the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia.

Interment is private.
