Philip A Lawson III, 56, passed away August 7th, 2026 at the Robin Johnson house in Dallas NC peacefully surrounded by family.
Philip was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend known for his kindness, warm smile, and love of time with family. He was a die hard Miami dolphins fan. He enjoyed browsing thrift stores for unique finds. His generosity, humor, and love will be remembered.
He is survived by his wife Crystal Lawson; father Philip Lawson Jr.; stepmother Debbie Lawson; daughters Kelly Rodriguez (Victor), Mariah Moore (Ashley), and Heather Taylor (Tevin) Sierra Moore(Nicholas); Grandchildren Natalie Rodriguez, Junie Rodriguez JR, Thomas Taylor, Gracie Taylor, Kaiden Moore, Eden Dawson, Braxton Jones, and Shilo Rodriguez; brother Chris Lawson (Amy) sisters Rita Moore and Melissa Gordan; brother-in-law Max Buchanan Jr. (Robin); and many extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother Becky Detter Lowe; grandparents Philip Lawson Sr. and Betty Lawson; mother-in-law Irma Buchanan; and sister-in-law Samantha Buchanan.
His love and devotion will live on; he will be deeply missed.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation at Greene Funeral Service South Chapel on August 11, 2026, starting at 4:30 pm. A funeral service will follow at 5:30 pm.
We encourage everyone to join us in celebrating Philip's life and the impact he had on everyone around him. He will be dearly missed.
