Rev. Perry James Huffstetler Jr. went home to be with the Lord on November 23, 2021. Perry was born on March 10, 1933 to Perry James Huffstetler Sr. and Lela Long Huffstetler of Belmont NC.
Perry, who began preaching at the age of 15, graduated from Gardner-Webb College and received his seminary degree from Baylor University in TX. He has served as pastor to New Hope Baptist- Winston Salem, Rocky Knoll Baptist- Greensboro, Ranlo Baptist (19 years), First Baptist Stanleyville, Interim pastor at East Baptist- Gastonia, Alexis Baptist -Stanley, and has served as pastor of Daystar Baptist, Mt Holly for the past 17 years.
Perry devoted his life to loving and serving God, his family and others. His greatest desire was to bring people to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour.
Perry was preceded in death by his parents, Perry Huffstetler Sr. and Lela Huffstetler; and his brother, Reginald Huffstetler.
Those left to cherish his memory and legacy are: his devoted wife of 70 years, who has served faithfully by his side, Addie Marie St Clair Huffstetler; two sisters: Barbara Huffstetler (husband Charlie) and Trisha Weir; three children: Tim Huffstetler, Marsha Holland (husband David), Joy Presley (husband Dan); four grandchildren: Jacob Presley (wife Lori), Samara Presley, Shera St Clair Farmer, Sy Farmer; two great-grandchildren: Ethan and Grant Presley; and a wealth of extended family, friends, and parishioners whose lives were blessed for having known and loved him.
A funeral service will be held 2:30 pm on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at Ranlo Baptist Church, 1517 Spencer Mtn. Rd., Gastonia.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to service.
Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Gastonia.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Southern Baptist Association Missions, c/o Ranlo Baptist Church, 1517 Spencer Mtn Rd, Gastonia NC 28054.
