Pegi A. Herbert

Pegi A. Herbert, 91, of Mt. Holly, passed away March 2, 2016 at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

She was born July 6, 1924 in Galway, Ireland, the daughter of the late Thomas and Kathleen McDonagh.

Pegi was a professional chiel dancer.  She taught Gaelic in Ireland to government employees to qualify for professional exams.  She also taught Gaelic at American University in Washington, DC.

Left to cherish her memories are her son Paul V. Moloney; daughter Therese M. Moloney and husband Steve Cody; grandchildren Monique DeUnger Thomas and husband Scott, Patricia Kay Moloney Starnes and husband Nathan and great grandchild Lily Georgene Thomas.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Philip Moloney; second husband Frank A. Herbert; grandsons Patrick Gene DeUnger, Stephen John DeUnger and Jalil Philip Kachouee and sister Kitty McDonagh.

A funeral service will be held 11 am Thursday at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.

Burial will be in Armstrong Cemetery.
