Pearl Bell Prince, 76, of Gastonia, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014 at the Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas. A Gaston County native, she was born February 15, 1938, daughter of the late John Raymond Bell Sr. and Ruby Price Bell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Fred Lee Bell, Franklin Delano Bell, John Raymond Bell Jr.; and her sister, Catherine Cleo Bell. Pearl was a committed wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her main joy in life was spending time with and cooking for her family. She was formerly employed with Threads USA and enjoyed working part-time at Economy Craft/Long Creek Mills. She was a member of Holland Memorial Baptist Church in Bessemer City. Mrs. Prince is survived by her husband, Melvin Prince of Gastonia; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Amy Prince of Dallas; brother, Bobby Eugene Bell of Bessemer City; grandchildren, Brittany Prince Caldwell and husband Wes of Gastonia, Haley Prince Breakfield and husband Alan of Kings Mountain, Benjamin David Shives of Dallas; great-grandchildren, Eli Wesley Caldwell, Carly Hope Breakfield, Tucker Grant Caldwell; and many loving nieces and nephews. A funeral service, officiated by Pastor David MacEachern, will be held 2 pm Wednesday, May 28 at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd., Gastonia. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm, Tuesday, May 27 at the funeral home, and other times at 107 Holland Memorial Church Rd., Bessemer City.
