Pauline P. Stewart

Pauline P. Stewart, 98, of York, SC, died at White Oak Manor, York, SC, on Friday, May 7, 2021.

A native of Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late Bonner Grier and Minnie Oates Pearson.

She was a schoolteacher and after teaching twenty-two enjoyable years, retired from the former South Gastonia Elementary School. She was of the Baptist Faith and was active in the Homebound Ministry at the Baptist Church. Her deep faith in God gave her a love for spending time in Bible reading and prayer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Charles Stewart; daughters, Linda Stewart and Penny Stewart Arrowood; brothers, Hazel, Leonard and Woodrow Pearson; sisters, Bessie Boyd, Lucy Rhyne, Grace Carver, Alyce Little and Virginia Alexander; and sister-in-law, Gerrie Pearson.

Survivors include one son, Charles "Tommy" Stewart and wife, Kathy of York, SC; one brother, Edwin Pearson of Gastonia, NC; granddaughter, Elizabeth Arrowood; great-granddaughter, Aveya Moss; and son-in-law, Keith Arrowood of Gaston County.

A funeral service, officiated by Rev. Vernon Carver, will be held 3pm on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be private.
