Pauline Nell Pope

Pauline Nell Pope, 86, formerly of Gastonia, passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021, at her residence in North Myrtle Beach, SC.

She was born on November 19, 1934, in Gastonia, NC, to the late Charles Alexander and Rachel Moore Morrison.

Pauline trusted God in all things. She was a longtime member of Chapel Grove Baptist Church and Fairview Baptist and later was a member of City Church. Pauline taught Sunday school at Chapel Grove Baptist and Terrace Ridge. In her later years she was co-owner of Harry O's, Linwood Fish Camp, Firehouse Fish and Fixins. Pauline was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Pauline is preceded in death by her son, Chris Pope; brother, J.D. Morrison; sisters, Betty Taylor, and Shirley Hunt.

Left to cherish Pauline's memories are her husband of 68 years, Joe Pope; daughter, Suzi Bridges (David); daughter in law, Lori Pope; grandchildren, Madeline Beam (Lee), and Sarah Bridges; great grandchildren, Victoria, and Allyson Beam; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life, officiated by Dr. Jeff Ward and Marvin Foy, will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 20, 2021, at Firestone Wesleyan – 1700 Union Rd, Gastonia, NC, 28052.

The family will receive friends after the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

The South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service is assisting the family.
