Paul Ray Walker, 91, of Shelby, passed away on January 5, 2015 at Wendover Hospice House, Shelby. He was born December 7, 1923 in Rutherford County, son of the late Francis Freeman Walker and Janie Hutchins Walker. Mr. Walker was a good and honest Christian Man. He loved his family dearly. He was a master mechanic and was a musician who loved Bluegrass Gospel Music. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Faith Baptist Church Cemetery, 3038 Dravo Rd. Shelby, officiated by the Rev. Mark Leonard. Left to cherish his memories are sons, Ronn Walker (Gayle), Richard Walker (Judith), Randy Walker, Robert Walker (Wanda), Kevin Walker; daughters, Rosalie McMinn (Mike), Debbie McCarthy, Donna Frye; brother, Andrew Walker; sister, Betty Mims; twenty-seven grandchildren; forty-four great grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by, brothers, John, Thomas, Matthew and Willie Walker; sister, Ruby Scoggins. Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
