Paul Nelson Hope, 51, of Gastonia, passed away Monday, December 18, 2017, at Carolinas Medical Center.
He was born, June 8, 1966, a native of Gaston County, son of James Nelson Hope and Selma Seay Hope.
He was a former member of Ranlo Church of God. Paul was the owner and operator of Carolina Burglar Alarm Company. He absolutely loved his horses and his trains.
In addition to his parents, left to cherish his memories are his wife, Melissa Correll Hope; son, Ricky Watts Jr. of Belmont; daughter, Jessica Morgan and husband Timothy of Ranlo; brothers, Michael Hope of Lowell, and Christopher Hope of Stanley; sister, Cynthia Hope of Cramerton; grandchildren, Gavin and Emma Watts, and Kaley Morgan.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Winona and Clangman Seay, and Eva and Silas Hope.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, December 22, 2017, at South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052, officiated by the Rev's. Ronald Pendleton and Nelson Hope.
Visitation will be held at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 21, 2017 at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
