Paul Alick Caldwell, 85, of Gastonia, passed away Friday, October 24, 2014 at his residence. He was born May 1, 1929 in Lincoln County, son of the late Irene Caldwell. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Terry Braswell; and grandparents, Annie and Early Caldwell. Mr. Caldwell retired from Wix Filters in 1993 after 34 years of service and retired from Herman Reeves in 2007. He had a life of ministry with the Church of God of Prophecy in Laboratory, NC for 11 years and in Indian Trail, NC for 10 ½ years. Paul is survived by his wife of 66 years, Hazel Rice Caldwell; son, William Caldwell; daughter, Judy C. Ramsey and husband, Richard; brother, Jack Caldwell and wife, Connie; grandchildren, Stephanie Hendricks and Billy McCray; great-grandchildren, Skye Johnson, Scotty Braswell, and Destinee Braswell. A funeral service, officiated by Rev. Pat Arrowood, Bishop Richard McInnis, and Rev. Roy Mills, will be held 2pm Tuesday, October 28 at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Monday, October 27 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
