The Rev. Oscar Phillip Greene, 87, of Gastonia, passed away July 19, 2017 at Caromont Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Swain County, May 3, 1930, the son of the late Silas Greene and Nora Kirkland Jolly.
The Rev. Greene was a pastor of several churches. He also enjoyed being a vendor at 161 Flea Market.
Left to cherish his memories are his memories are his son, Joe Greene and wife, Anna; daughters, Sheila Lee and husband, Danny, Edith Garland, Phyllis Wells and husband, James; son-in-law, Jackie Fralick; step-son, Mark Moore; step-daughters, Dana Grayson and Lisa Plemmons; brother, Richard Greene and 46 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Betty Barber Greene and 2nd wife, Mary Moore Greene; son, Roger Greene; daughter Doreen Fralick; step-son, Scott Moore and several brothers and sisters.
A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Junior Morris will be held 3 pm Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.
The family will receive friends 2 – 3 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
His final resting place will be in Gaston Memorial Park.
