Oliver "Rusty" Bone
July 15, 1925 — January 21, 2018
Oliver "Rusty" Bone, 92, of Bessemer City, passed away on January 21, 2018, at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia.
He was born July 15, 1925, in Fulton County, Georgia, son of the late Oliver L. Bone Sr. and Annie Sullivan Bone.
Mr. Bone was a veteran of the US Coast Guard and received a purple heart for being wounded in World War II. He was a member of Concord United Methodist Church in Bessemer City.
A memorial service will be held 2:00pm Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at Concord United Methodist Church, Bessemer City, officiated by the Rev. Cindy Spicer.
The family will receive friends 1-2pm prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Bone is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Helen Kiser Bone; sons, Gene Bone, Rick Bone and wife Laura; daughter, Lisa Bone; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by six siblings and a grandson.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Concord United Methodist Church 2404 Tryon Courthouse Road, Bessemer City, NC 28016
