Obera Wilkerson

Obera M. Wilkerson, 93, of Lowell, passed away May 21, 2016 at Peak Resources in Gastonia.

A Gaston County native, she was born September 17, 1922, daughter of the late Dock and Linda Messer.

Mrs. Wilkerson was retired from Pharr Yarns in McAdenville and was a member of Lowell Church of God.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ervin Wilkerson.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Nancy Wilkerson and friend Anthony of Lowell; grandson, George C. Thrower III and wife Renee of Gastonia; great-grandchildren, Evan Richard Thrower and Emma Isabella Thrower; sister, Myrtle McCuen of Lowell.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Joe Heffner and Rev. George Thrower III, will be held 2pm Tuesday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm Monday at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Gaston Memorial Park.
