It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Norris Dean Thompson, who left us peacefully on October 12, 2025, at the age of 74. Norris was born on December 30, 1950, in Cleveland County, and was the son of the late Willie Thompson and Bertie Barber Thompson.
Norris lived a quiet life, he didn't ask for much and did not need to be surrounded by a crowd to be content. He found comfort in simple things. He cherished his family deeply, and his love for them was evident in every interaction. Norris was selfless, and he will be remembered as a gentle soul who brought warmth and comfort to all who knew him.
His family, friends, and loved ones will gather to honor his memory and celebrate his life at a graveside service that will take place on 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Mountain Rest Cemetery in Kings Mountain., officiated by Pastor Ches Robbins. The ceremony will be a heartfelt tribute to a beloved man who touched the lives of his family.
Norris is survived by sister, Becky Dellinger; nieces, Dana Anderson (Kenny), and Ronda Hartman; and numerous nieces, nephews and great - nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, Norris was preceded in death by his brothers, Sammy, Don, Dick, Bill, and Arnold Thompson; sisters, Sharon Boheler, Sandra Miller, Dianne Coggins; and his son Brint Thompson.
Norris Dean Thompson may no longer walk among us, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he loved. He will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.
