Norman Hilburn, 85, of Lowell, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2022, at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.
He was born August 28, 1937, to the late Solomon and Rose Ann Cartrette Hilburn in Columbus County North Carolina.
Norman was a member of Dallas Church of God. He was a weaving technician in the cotton textile industry. He was also a US Army veteran. Norman was a prayer warrior and loved the Lord. He loved his family and would sacrifice anything to ensure that their needs were met. He was a hard worker – at home, his employer, and at the church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Hilburn.
He is survived by his son, Mickey Hilburn and wife Beth; brothers, Charles Hilburn and wife Carolyn, Jerry Hilburn; grandchildren, Buddy Hilburn and wife Rhonda, Cydney Snipes, Dalton Snipes, Tamara Hice and husband Joey; great-grandchildren, Zoey Hice, Liam Hilburn, Nicklaus Hilburn.
A funeral service officiated by Pastor Danny Shortridge will be held Thursday, September 1, 2022, at 6:00 PM at Dallas Church of God. Visitation will be 4:30 – 6:00 before the service at the church. Burial will be at 11:00 AM Friday, September 2, 2022, at Gaston Memorial Park.
