Nora Kelly

Nora Blalock Kelly, 81, of Gastonia, passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021, at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

She was born on March 11, 1940, in Avery County, NC, to the late Samuel W. Blalock, Jr. and Helen Hartley Blalock.

Nora was of the Baptist faith. She was a mother to many children. Nora spent her life with her family and friends that she loved.

In addition to her parents, Nora is preceded in death by her daughters, Lisa Kay Kelly, Kathlene Kelly Helms, and Martha Gaye Smith; and brother, Thomas Blalock.

Left to cherish Nora's memories are her son, David C. Kelly, Jr.; brothers, Gordon Blalock (Amelia) and Bill Blalock (Wendy); sister, Karen Lowrance; grandchildren, Kara Jarvis, Kelley Ledford, Shannon Davis, Steven Helms, and Kevin Gibson; 8 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service, officiated by Rev. Johnny Yarboro, will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.

The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment to follow the service at Gaston Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Gaston County.
