Nettie Geraldine Stephens

Nettie Geraldine Bates Stephens was a caring, strong, and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world on August 2, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family after a long battle with cancer.

Geraldine is survived by her husband of 54 plus years, Samuel Stephens, Sr.; their three children, Pamela Goodwin, Samuel Stephens, Jr., and Edward Stephens along with their many grandchildren. Together she and her husband have 30 grand and great grandchildren whom she loved beyond measure.

Geraldine loved spending time with her family and loved ones. She spent much of her time on her porch watching the wildlife and sharing life stories and guidance to her children and grandchildren.

Geraldine was and will continue to be, the heart of her family as they carry her with them in loving memory.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 5, 2021, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S. York Rd, Gastonia, NC.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home an hour prior to the service.

Interment to follow the service at Gaston Memorial Park.
