Nellie Stacy

Nellie Jane Stacy, 86, of Gastonia, passed away on Monday, October 11, 2021, at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

Born on February 7, 1935, Nellie was the daughter of the late Charlie and Edith Bustler Melton.

Nellie was a member of Lowell Freewill Baptist Church. She was a big animal lover, especially cats. Nellie loved to go the flea market and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Ben Stacy; brothers, Robert, Fred, and Jake Melton; and sister, Jeannette Thompson.

Left to cherish Nellie's memories are her daughters, Sindy Burgess (Don), Lavone Stephens (Clay), and Sharon Brummett (Tim); brothers, Darrell Melton; sisters, Betty Sue Dellinger, and Mildred Snyder; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service, officiated by Rev. Don Burgess, will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 24, 2021, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S York Rd, Gastonia, Nc 28052.

The family will receive friends after the memorial service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Gaston County Humane Society.
