Nellie Hudson Farris

Nellie Hudson Farris, 83, of Clover, SC, passed away December 17, 2020 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, NC.

She was born May 8, 1937 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Coen Hudson and Aner Chapmen Hudson.

Nellie was a member of Independent Baptist Tabernacle in Dallas, NC for over 37 years.  She retired from Eastco and had worked at the Osage plant in Bessemer City for over 20 years.  Nellie loved Jesus and she loved to garden.  She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; she was devoted to them all.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Lee Farris, Sr.; sisters, Bonnie Martin, Ruby Padgett, Florence Lail, Shirley, Ethel, and Marie Hudson; and brothers, Gene, Tommy, Conley, Elmer, Horace, and Kinley Hudson.

Nellie is survived by her children, Billie Helms and husband Terry, and Joe Lee Farris, Jr., and wife Teresa; grandchildren, Daniel Helms, Melissa Kloop and husband James, Ashley Hodge and husband Grady Raines, Joseph Farris and wife Sarah Correll, and Josh Causby; great-grandchildren, Addison Davis, Brantley Farris, and Finnley Helms; brothers, Jerry Hudson and wife Frances, and Kenneth Hudson and wife; and sister, Dean Chapmen.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Brian Spargo, will be held Monday, December 21, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the Independent Baptist Tabernacle, 2128 Dallas-Cherryville Hwy., Dallas, NC.  The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church between the hours of 12:30 pm and 2:00 pm.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
