Nelia Nonisa

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Nelia Nonisa, who left this world peacefully November 30, 2024, at the age of 92. Born on September 10, 1932, in the Philippines, Nelia moved to the United States at the age of 66, settling in Bessemer City, North Carolina, where she embraced her new life with warmth and grace.

Nelia was a dedicated employee and spent some enjoyable years working at Burger King, where she delighted in bringing smiles to the faces of her customers. She had a passion for gardening and loved tending to her plants, believing that they filled her life with beauty. In her downtime, she was often found cross-stitching, creating lovely pieces that reflected her artistic spirit.

Nelia is survived by her loving daughter, Cora Fuerste, and her sons, Alejandro (Alex) Nonisa Jr. and Alejandro (Butch) Nonisa Jr., grandchildren Patrick Nonisa, Nino Anthony Nonisa, Karen Nonisa and Aya Nonisa, siblings Virginia Saguing, Mercy Nobida, Teresita Lagade, Josephine Alorro, Imelda Lee, and Consolacion Dayao.

Nelia was preceded in death by her husband Alejandro Nonisa , Sr.; parents Faustino and Brigida Lagade; and five siblings.
