Nanie Mae Stephens, 95 of Cherryville went to be with The Lord on August 19, 2018 at Courtland Terrace.
She was born June 6, 1923 in White County, Georgia, the daughter of the late John Mulkey and Nancy Jane Mulkey.
Nanie was a member of Clover Liberty Pentecostal Church. She loved her family and never met a stranger.
She is survived by her sons W.R. Stephens and wife Louise and Rev. Larry Stephens and wife Lawanna; daughters, Mary Whitesides, Shirley Revels and husband Leroy, Judy Stewart, Linda Biggers and husband Mike; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt Stephens; son, Joe Roger Stephens; brothers Frank and Garnet Mulkey; and sisters, Hazel Thomas and Ethel Nix.
A funeral service will be held 2 pm Wednesday, August 22nd at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Michael Coe and the Rev. Larry Stephens.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Westview Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clover Liberty Pentecostal Church – Building Fund PO Box 747, Bowling Green, SC 29703.
