Nancy Jo Maldonado

Nancy Chapman Maldonado, beloved wife, mother, Nana, sister, and friend, passed away on August 25, 2026.

Nancy was a kind, caring, and deeply loving person, and her family meant everything to her. She especially adored her grandchildren and took tremendous pride in being their Nana. To those who knew and loved her, she was simply the best mom and Nana in the world.

Nancy found joy in the simple things, including spending time with her family and going thrifting. She had a loving heart, a strong spirit, and a way of making the people around her feel cared for. Her family will remember her for her kindness, her love, and the many memories they were fortunate enough to share with her.

She is survived by her husband, Jesus Maldonado; her daughter, Jo Gould, and son-in-law, Jimi Gould; her son, Victor Maldonado, and daughter-in-law, Abby Maldonado; her stepson, Clayton Maldonado, and his wife, Mary Maldonado; and her daughter-in-law, Renee Maldonado.

She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Alex Gould, Miles Gould, Manny Maldonado, Maddie Maldonado, Dillon Maldonado, and Justin Maldonado.

Nancy is also survived by her sisters, Tabitha Spencer and her husband, Terry Spencer, and Susan Chapman; her brother, Samuel Chapman, and his husband, Mark McCoy; her sister at heart, Sissy Conner; her brother-in-law, Rondale Williams; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Doris and Samuel Chapman, and her sister, Rose Williams.

Nancy's greatest legacy is the family she loved so fiercely. Her kindness, love, and devotion to them will live on in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and everyone fortunate enough to have known her.

She will be missed beyond measure and loved always.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, August 28, 2026, 4:00 PM, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd, Gastonia, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Condolences may be shared online at: www.greenefuneral.com.
